Brendan Gough
Brendan Gough is Professor of Social Psychology at Leeds Beckett University and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. He has published a textbook (2001; 2013) and handbook (2018) on Critical Social Psychology and is co-editor in chief of the journal Social & Personality Psychology Compass.
Brendan is a leading figure in qualitative methods and is co-founder and co-editor of the journal Qualitative Research in Psychology; in 2014 he edited a Major Work (5 volumes) for Sage on Qualitative Research in Psychology.
He is also an expert on men’s health and masculinity and has published numerous articles and books in this field, focusing on a range of topics, including smoking, male infertility, body image and mental health; he is associate editor for the APA journal Psychology of Men and Masculinity. He has recently lead on a report for the World Health Organisation on the mental health of men and boys (2019).
