Hubert Annen

Hubert Annen, Ph.D., is the head of Military Psychology and Military Pedagogy Studies at the Swiss Military Academy at ETH Zurich and the head of the Swiss Army assessment centers for prospective Professional Officers, Professional NCOs, Defence AttacheĢs, and General Staff Officers respectively.

In addition to his regular teaching activities at ETH Zurich and the Military Academy, he also has teaching assignments at the University of Fribourg, the University of Lucerne and the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. He had assignments as visiting scholar at the University of South Florida and as visiting professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Dr. Annen is also the head of the Management Board of the International Military Testing Association (IMTA).

His research interests include the evaluation and validation of assessment and selection procedures for military leaders, motivational aspects in the military context, military education, military values and virtues, and the trainability and measurability of individual resilience. In the rank of a colonel, he is still active in the Swiss Armed Forces as Head of Research of the Psychological-Pedagogical Service.
