ICP 2020+ will be a Hybrid event

We trust that you remain well and safe.

ICP 2020+ preparations are at full speed. We have just reached another great milestone of over 9 500 abstract submissions! This adds many more exciting choices to  an already extensive and in-depth programme covering all areas of psychology and related fields. You will be spoilt for choice, including engaging with leading text-book authors and recognised experts in their various fields.  ICP 2020+  will also offer many other opportunities such as providing  valuable networking opportunities, and will thus provide   a rich and edifying experience!

As you are aware, the leadership of ICP 2020+ and the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS), Psychology’s Global Voice, have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. When the ICP 2020+ team presented our bid in 2012, we based our philosophy on openness, a key value spelled out in the Congress theme “Open minds, societies and the world.” We knew openness can be challenging, but none of us could have imagined that most of the world would be under lockdown since March  2020, the ICP 2020+ theme is therefore especially relevant today.

Ensuring that delegates from across the globe can safely participate in ICP2020+ is most important  to us.  For this reason, the ICP 2020+ and IUPsyS leadership have decided that ICP2020+ will be a Hybrid event.  For the first time in ICP history since the first ICP was held in Paris in 1889, delegates will have the opportunity to attend the Congress either in-person (if you are able to travel to Prague) or virtually.

The change in format will not  impact on the quality and vibrancy of the  ICP 2020+ scientific programme, which  covers the full spectrum of psychological areas, along with tremendous opportunities for impactful networking, meetings, reflection, and debate with colleagues and expert presenters from all parts of the globe,  including the IUPsyS Presidential Address, State of the Art Lectures, IUPsyS quadrennial Award Lectures, Keynote Addresses, Invited Symposia, oral and poster presentations, symposia, roundtable discussions, critical debates, and pre-Congress workshops.

The Hybrid ICP 2020+ will be a unique enriching experience using the best available technology to provide in-person or on-line delegates with opportunities to connect with speakers and colleagues the world over in chats, live Q & A sessions, and other meaningful collaboration and engagements with participants across a variety of platforms and modes.
